Vivitar Tec 45 and Panasonic C-600
The Vivitar Tec 45 was a flag ship compact 35mm film camera released in 1985 by Vivitar. At release, the Vivitar Tec 45 was priced higher than most well-known brand compact cameras such as the Canon AF35m II, Nikon L35AF and the Canon MC. The camera was manufactured by Panasonic under the name Vivitar Tec 45 in the US market and Panasonic C-600 for the rest of the world.
Both cameras share the same specifications except for the unique lens cover mechanism that acts as an on/off switch. The cameras are powered by double AA batteries, additional 2 LR-44 can be used to power the LCD display to always display frame number, even if the camera is off. Optional auxiliary tele/wide lens can be used on the Vivitar Tec 45, but not on the Panasonic C-600 due to lens cover difference. The Vivitar Tec 45 is only available in black and blue accent color, the Panasonic C-600 available in champaign gold or black with red accent.
