Sugiyama and McKeown attribute the Camel and the Kikuca 35 (a rangefinder derivative) to "Tohokoken Camera Co." or "Tohokoken Camera Works".[1]
"Kōken" is probably written 光研, an abbreviation of kōgaku kenkyū meaning "optical research".
