Ross was a British optical company, founded in 1830. They also made cameras, from about 1855. It is well known for its camera lenses and its binoculars. In 1948 Ross joined with Houghton-Buther's successor Barnet Ensign Ltd. . Together the companies survived as Ross-Ensign until 1961.
