The Polaroid Land Camera Model 420 is an Automatic Land Camera in the Polaroid 100-400 series. It was manufactured between 1971-1977.[1] It was meant to be a cheaper, consumer-friendly version of the Polaroid Land Camera Model 430. The original retail price in 1971 was USD $59.95.[2] While the Model 430 had a timer, 3-element lenses and accessories, the Model 420 did not.[3]
Some features of the 420 include:
- 2-element, 44 mm. f/8.8 lens.
- Viewfinder/Rangefinder
- Lighten/Darken Control
- Flash add on (with General Electric Hi-Power flashcubes or equivalent)
- Electric Eye
The original Polaroid 107/108 type film that the 420 originally took has been discontinued. In modern day, one could use Fujifilm FP-100c, FP-100b, or FP-3000b type film as a replacement, though these were discontinued in 2016. As of 2018, no film is being manufactured for this camera.[4]
