The Nikon Coolpix 7600 (not a Coolpix 7900) is a 7 megapixel compact digital camera made in Korea for the Nikon Coporation, introduced in February 2005. It was fitted with a 3x zoom lens, an LCD display and an optical viewfinder. It was available in Black or Silver finish. The Coolpix 5900 is similar, but with slightly reduced 5 megapixel specification.

The body has a very solid feel, with a metal frame; there are doors at the end for the memory card, and underneath for the battery. The door for the battery compartment has a very flimsy catch, and many of these have been observed with the catch broken and the door flapping open. (The example in the rear view shows this!)
