The Minolta V3 rangefinder camera was derived from the Minolta V2 in 1960. As its predecessor it is an all mechanical camera, but with built in uncoupled selenium exposure meter. Only two years after the V2's leaf shutter speed world record Minolta reached a new one with the V3's only 1/3000 second minimum exposure time.

The Minolta V3 uses a leaf shutter with limited aperture options:

  • at B and from 1 sec to 1/1000 sec every aperture from f/1.8 to f/22 can be used
  • at 1/2000 sec only apertures from f/4 to f/22 can be used
  • at 1/3000 sec only apertures from f/8 to f/22 can be used
