Title and Scope

This page will cover the various versions of the "Kodak Vigilant" series of medium format cameras.

Introduction

The Kodak Vigilant Six-20 medium format camera was manufactured between 1939-1949 and originally sold for US $38.

Before the war, the cameras came with one of at least three types of Kodak Anastigmat lenses:

F/4.5 105mm
F/6.3 105mm
F/8.8 100mm

The top of the line Vigilant came with an f/4.5 101mm Anastigmat Special (later Anastar) lens.

There are also several shutter types including the Dakon, Diomatic, Kodamatic, and Supermatic.

The 620 film produced a 6x9 cm image on film. With the manual wind you need to watch the small opening in the back of the camera to make sure that you didn't advance passed the next number as it went passed the opening or you risk losing film space for a picture.
