Sportsman S-L is a 35mm film viewfinder camera made by Dacora for Ilford and produced between 1963-67.

  • Lens: Steinheil Cassar (Optische Werke Steinheil Munchen) 45mm f2.8, filter slip-on serial no. none
    • Aperture: f2.8 - f22 no click-stops
    • Focus range: 1- 10m +inf. There are distance marks as portrait, group and landscape on the scale also
  • Focusing: manual front focusing, guess the distance
  • Shutter: Prontor 300 S leaf shutter speeds: 1/30-1/300 +B
  • Cocking lever: also winds the film, on the right back side of the camera
  • Shutter release: on the right front of the camera, w/cable release socket
  • Frame counter: auto-reset, on the bottom plate
  • Viewfinder: bright line, large and bright
  • Exposure meter: un-coupled Selenium cell light meter
    • Film speed range: ASA 30-300, setting: by turning the inner ring of the setting dial
    • Exposure setting: read the aperture and speed in the window on the setting dial, by turning the outer ring of setting dial on the top plate
  • Re-wind lever: folding crank type, on the left of the top plate
  • Re-wind release: on the bottom plate
  • Flash PC socket: on the left front of the camera
  • Others: Cold-shoe; Memory dial; Self-timer;Tripod socket 1/4 inch
  • Back cover: hinged, opens by a latch on the right side of the top plate
  • Sticker inside the back cover: Always use Ilford 35mm films, Ilfocrome for colour
  • Body: metal, grey leatherette covering; Weight: 529g
  • serial no.on the bottom plate
