The Hansa Jupiter[1] (ハンザジュピター) is a Japanese 35mm viewfinder camera, surely distributed by Ōmiya Shashin-yōhin, the owner of the "Hansa" brand. Its actual maker is unknown.
It seems to be molded is some sort of plastic, and has a tubular optical finder protruding on the top. It is equipped with a body release, and it is said to have a device to cut the film in mid-roll.[2] It is said that the lens is a meniscus achromat 60mm f/10 and that the shutter provides B and 1/25 speeds.[3]
The Hansa Jupiter is advertised in 1948 and 1949, and there is a test report in the January 1949 issue or Ars Camera.[4] Its price was ¥1,500.[5]
