This category shall help to find very old cameras or very old product lines. Cameras, camera product lines, and important innovative camera parts (like shutters) shall be categorized according to the year of their market launch. The first five categories cover the 75 years from the public announcement of suitable photographical processes in 1839 to the outbreak of World War I in 1914 .

The following 25 years are covered in one-year categories.

Categories after 1939 would mean a painful lot of work. Probably the categories covering the first 100 years of commercial camera production are sufficient as basic timeline to find the very old cameras. The template "Camera timeline" makes it easy to navigate between these categories.
