Paxette II is a series of 35mm film viewfinder and rangefinder cameras made by Braun and introduced in 1953. [1]. The series has interchangeable lenses.

Paxette IIEdit

  • 1952-56
  • It is similar to Paxette 1951, but with interchangeable lenses in M39 mount
  • No rangefinder in the second window, but extinction meter
  • Flat top with integrated cold-shoe
  • From 1953 slightly raised cold-shoe with frame counter in front of it, later also lever wind
  • From 1954 stepped top hosing
  • Various lens/shutter combinations, like 45mm f/2.8 Kata and other lenses in Prontor-S or Prontor-SVS
  • In UK also with Wray Lustar 45mm f/2.8 lens

Paxette II LEdit

  • Introduced in 1958
  • No rangefinder
  • It was only sold as a kit with lenses and was not advertised.

  • Uncoupled lightmeter
  • Bright frame finder
  • Katagon 50mm f/2.8 and other lenses in Prontor-SVS shutter

Paxette II MEdit

  • Introduced in 1953
  • It is similar to Paxette II but with uncoupled rangefinder, no extinction meter
  • Knob advance
  • Kata 45mm f/2.8 and other lenses in Prontor-SVS shutter
  • In 1954-58 with rapid advance lever
