Annie Leibovitz (born October 2, 1947 in West Port, Connecticut) belongs to the most renowned photographers at the turn of the millennium. Maybe she has to be called the most famous portrait photographer of our times. She was chief photographer for the music magazine Rolling Stone. In 1983 she also worked for Vanity Fair. In the same year the first exhibition of her photographs took place, and her first book was published. In the following year she was named "Photographer of the Year" by the American Society of Magazine Photographers. In 1990 she founded her studio in New York City.
